Animo is built so that what you do in it stays yours. This page explains, in plain words, what this website and the waitlist collect, and how the Animo app handles your data.

Who we are

Animo is run by [OWNER'S NAME OR STUDIO NAME, COUNTRY]. You can reach us at support@myanimo.app.

This website

• No cookies, no advertising trackers and no analytics that follow you.
• Fonts are served from this site, so your browser doesn't contact Google or anyone else.
• The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes basic technical data (such as your IP address) to deliver the page and protect it from attacks. We don't use that data to identify you.

The waitlist

• What we keep: your email address, whether you ticked "test early", the country you joined from (worked out by our host; we don't store your IP address) and the date.
• Why: to email you when Animo is out, a few updates before that, and (if you ticked the box) an invitation to test the Android app.
• Where: in our own database on Cloudflare. No email company holds the list. When we send an email, an email-sending service receives your address only to deliver that email. We never sell or share it.
• Your choice: every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us at support@myanimo.app to delete your details at any time.
• How long: until you unsubscribe, or until we no longer need it for the launch.
• Our legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

The Animo app

• No account. You don't give us your name or email to use the app.
• On your phone, encrypted. Your journal, check-ins, slips, streaks and reasons are stored on your device in an encrypted database. We can't see them.
• Backups are yours. If you make a backup, it's a file you save where you choose.
• Only with your yes: in Settings → Privacy you can choose to send anonymous crash reports and anonymous answers (such as which reasons are most common). These never include what you write, your name or anything that identifies you, and you can switch them off at any time.
• Payments are handled by Google Play, with RevenueCat (our subscription service) checking whether a subscription is active using a random ID. We don't see your name or card details.
• No ads and no advertising IDs.

Age

Animo is for adults aged 18 and over.

Your rights

If you're in the UK or EU, you can ask to see, correct or delete the data we hold about you (for most people, that's only a waitlist email), and you can complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO at ico.org.uk). Email support@myanimo.app and we'll reply within a month.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and for important changes we'll tell waitlist members by email.
